9TH STREET CHRONICLES
In this first volume, W. E. Self uses street vernacular and previously untold stories to illuminate the 9th Street legacy. The book is written in the first person and the voices are unapologetic and raw. The so-called “Block” is a narrow corridor just one city-block long. It is a mysterious fifth dimension and illustrates that power and money are interdependent; and that Black people are bilingual, bi-polar and bi-cultural. And, from a hustler’s point of view life in the game moves at light speed, never changes and never backs up.
G7 Success is a German company based in Koln providing customized strategic sales training for tech-enabled organizations with global sales teams. The client requested a logo with corresponding brand image that is "modern, integrated and professional."
HESTEMP is a University of Hawaii College of Engineering program lead by Principal Investigator Dr. Dilmurat Azimov. The mission of Hawaii's Engaged STEM Pathways is to guide Hawaii students from the elementary program all the way to graduate students into careers in aerospace. I was asked to design a complete overhaul of this program. The logo needed to incorporate space and futuristic motifs, while being legible at a distance. The horizon symbolizes infinity and discovery, while the rising sun represents a certainty that the future is always bright.
